A Word From Shayne
Hello parents!!
Camp has come and camp has gone! I was not able to be there due to Covid exposure but I heard it was awesome!
Our camp speaker John Kim was hilarious, had crazy stories to tell, and most importantly showed the students that they need Jesus! He clearly told them that Christ is the only way, they are sinners, but He loves them and wants them to be apart of His kingdom! He also encouraged them that even though they are young they can still be examples of Christ (1 Timothy 4:12).
On top of awesome teaching, the students had a ton of fun spending the night in different homes, ice skating, eating tons of food and snacks, enjoying an awesome beach day, playing endless games, and experiencing one of the funnest talent shows we’ve had.
Not only this, but for the first time in Jr. high history, guys and girls actually hung out with each other as friends!
However, the highlight of camp happened on the last night. After the message, we encouraged the Jr. high students that if they felt the Lord working on their hearts to get up, find a staff member, and talk about salvation, and many did! The Lord worked in the student’s hearts and for that we praise the Him for allowing camp to happen.
Below are some images from camp.
Since camp, multiple staff members have fallen ill, and because of this, we will be taking this Wednesday AND Sunday off in order to allow them to recover and quarantine. Information about the following week will come as soon as we get the green light to start up again.
Until then, keep in touch with your student’s staff leader and ask your students how the Lord worked in their hearts at camp.
