Big Changes happening in Jr. High Ministry, plus Summer Camp Sign Ups!!
A Word From Shayne
Happy Last Week of March!
This year just keeps on rolling by, but we have been enjoying every bit of it with your students. This last week we had an AMAZING time at Mystery Night 2021. After having to skip it last year, we were so excited when we were able to pull it off this year. Just like every year, it was a huge task, but we had a sea of help. A special thanks to all of you who volunteered to drive for the event. You all played a role in making the night awesome so from both the Jr. High Ministry and the High School Ministry, thank you!
At the end of Mystery Night we had announced signups for Summer Camp 2021! Right now you are able to sign your students up for camp! We will be going to The Masters University up in Santa Clarita, and it is going to be awesome. We will post the link below to sign up along with a promo video in case your student needs to be convinced to come.
For this week, we will be back at the Tracy Home and our very own Alex Crain will be closing out our "Survival Through Hope" series in 1 Peter. Throughout 1 Peter, we have been continually encouraged to look forward to the amazing hope that we have in Christ. The hope of heaven should be what motivates us to live holy lives for Christ now. I am looking forward to finishing off the book with all your students this Wednesday night.
Big Jr. High Changes
You may remember from last week that we would be announcing some big news about the Jr. High ministry. In case you had missed the parent meeting and announcement at church, we wanted to communicate this news to you all here. Christina and myself will be stepping down from the Jr. High ministry in the next couple of months. Three years ago, our elders had given me the opportunity to lead this ministry so that I might grow in preaching, shepherding, and spiritual leadership. Within those 3 years, we have both grown a ton, especially in our love for your students. We have been so thankful that the Lord would use us to love and share Christ with them. Now the time has come for another young and amazing man to step in and grow. Terrell Medina will be taking my place as the Jr. High Pastor. You may know him as "Boots" from the famous "Boots and Scoots" duo. He is an awesome dude who loves the Lord and is eager to jump in and love your students through leading the ministry. As sad as Christina and I are to leave the ministry, we are looking forward to seeing how the Lord will use Terrell to bless the ministry. If you see him at church or a Wednesday night, please reach out and encourage him. He has already started joining us in Jr. High and will take the lead by May. Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any further questions.
Also, just a reminder, this coming weekend is Easter! Which means that we will not be having youth group on Sunday morning. We hope you have a great time celebrating our resurrected Savior!
