A Word From Shayne
Hello Jr. High Parents!
This coming Wednesday night is CEREAL NIGHT! Being a part of the Jr. High ministry comes with many benefits. One of them being that we get to have fun theme nights like cereal night. This week we will be celebrating some of our favorite cereal brands and we invite your students to join us. We highly encourage them to come dressed up. They can dress up as a cereal box, milk, or even the mascot of their favorite brand. We will end our night feasting on some of the best cereals, so your student will not want to miss cereal night this Wednesday.
More importantly, we will be finishing our 2-week mini series on "What does it mean to be saved?" In this series, we look at a handful of different questions that your students have asked about the Christian life. Last week we looked at questions that deal with how someone becomes saved and what happens to them. This week we will be looking at questions that deal with the life of a Christian. We will look at questions like: "What does it mean to be freed from sin?", "Why do we still sin when we are saved?", "What is sanctification?", and "What does it mean to have a personal relationship with Jesus?". I am very excited to dig into the Word with your students and see how the Bible answers these questions.
Also, we as a ministry want to continue to keep you in the loop of what is happening. This will be the last time that you hear from me (Shayne Torres) in a parent email. After this week, the newsletter will be written by our new Jr. High Pastor, Terrell Medina! I will still be around in the ministry for the next couple of weeks, but if there is any important information you need to know, Terrell will be the guy to give it to you. Please continue to pray for, love on, and encourage Terrell as he takes on more of this ministry. And if you have not yet had the pleasure of meeting him, please stop by on a Wednesday Night to say hi.

We love our Jr. Highers and look forward to hanging out with them every Wednesday!
