[RISE SC22] Friday Recap ⏪

Epic game, great food, and 2 important messages!

Dear Parents,

We are having so much fun up here! The Lord has been kind to us in keeping us all safe, giving us the best staff, most servant-hearted volunteers, super talented band, and THE man Shawn Farrell who has been preaching the Word so clearly every morning and night.

The meals have also been incredible… Critics are saying: “best camp food ever.” This morning we had some delicious baked oatmeal, fruit, bagels, and cereal! For lunch: burgers and fries!! And perhaps the best meal thus far… orange chicken, rice, and veggies for dinner!

Games have been INCREDIBLE (thanks to our MAD Crew)! Survivor “Rollerball,” a HUGE obstacle course, and an epic battle to extinguish our opponent’s tiki torch flames.

We also enjoyed a ton of free time today which included more pool time, zip lining, volleyball, Gaga ball, and most importantly - one on one conversations between staff and students. This is where our staff will meet with each student individually to really get to know them and help them evaluate their relationship with the Lord.

Sessions were so great today. In the morning we took a step aside from the Rich Young Ruler and focused specifically on obedience to parents. There is a clear authority tree given to us – God at the top, then parents, then the student. And when students obey, it makes God happy and it brings blessing! Then, at night, we dove back into the Luke 18 as we debunked 3 myths about salvation. We cannot get to heaven on our own – we need a Savior! We cannot have the best of both worlds – we must totally surrender! We don’t just need to make a “decision” – we must actually FOLLOW Jesus!

Please continue to pray for safety and transformed hearts. Tomorrow we head to the beach and then have our final session at night! Crazy how fast time flies when you’re having fun!
