Dear Parents,
I can’t wait for you to hear of the incredible work the Lord has done in the hearts of your students this week. It is a day like this that quickly reminds us why all the hard work is so worth it.
Our day started with devotionals, breakfast (pancakes, bacon, sausage, bagels, cereal), and then we hopped on busses and headed to the beach! Our incredible MAD Crew got to the beach before us, early in this morning, to reserve a spot on the beach. It was beautiful and the weather was so nice! We had a ton of fun in the water, playing football, volleyball and more! Also, it was just a great opportunity for our staff to connect with our students in one on one conversations. Seriously - SUCH a fun beach day! The Lord was kind to us.
After coming back from the beach, we hit the showers and got ready for dinner (pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw and corn on the cob). THEN we had our FINAL session together!
We started off the session with a classic “Smorgasbord” game - students spinning a giant wheel to determine what crazy/gross foods they had to devour for points (jr high boys favorite). That concluded our SURVIVOR competition! And, the WINNING TEAM… will be announced at CAMP REWIND (June 22, 5:30-7:30, Thompson Middle School)!
After the game, we worshiped the Lord through song and Shawn preached his final message out of Luke 18. There are only two possible responses to the gospel: there is great JOY in following Christ and there is great SADNESS in rejecting Christ.
After the sermon, we had an extended time of worship where I invited the students to respond to the gospel. My heart was full as I watched many students seek after their discipleship leaders to let them know what was on their heart after such a gospel-saturated week. Many students have felt the weight of their sin and their need for a Savior. Praise the Lord! We are rejoicing that the Lord is working in the hearts of our students. Now we must pray for fruit! I can’t wait to dive back into the Word with them throughout the summer!
I can’t wait to share even more with you about how camp went! All students are in their cabins now - safe and healthy. We will wake up at 7am, eat breakfast at 8am, and leave on busses by 10:15am.
Our current ETA to the FBC Warehouse (27383 Via Industria, Temecula, CA 92590) is 2:30 but I will update you while we’re on the bus!
Continue to pray for us! Pray for safety as we travel. And most importantly, continue to pray for the hearts of our students!
See you tomorrow!
In Him,
Terrell Medina
