[RISE Update] Crossroads Day 2! ✌️
Students join us tonight for Day 2! Parents come back tomorrow!
Dear Parents,
DAY 1 of Crossroads was amazing! I pray that it was a help and encouragement for you and your students. My favorite part was worshipping all together – parents, students, and staff! It was such a sweet time.
DAY 2 is TONIGHT at the Backlunds from 6:30-9 PM. We will not be playing a water game tonight – so students don’t need to come in bathing suits. Tonight we will be talking about CHRIST – how He is the one who crushed the head of the serpent and how He is our only true hope! I hope your students can come back for this important night!
TOMORROW (8/4) all parents are invited back for our final day of Crossroads! For parents, we will be talking about social media, devices, video games, purity, and more! These are such relevant issues that you must be aware of and know how to shepherd your students though. I have talked to so many parents who have found out TOO LATE that their students are struggling with these temptation. Our hope is to help you address these issues BEFORE your student becomes enslaved to them. We will answer any and all questions you have! Students should come with a towel and clothes they can get wet in tomorrow.
Sermon audio from the conference will be uploaded shortly afterwards, but I just wanted to give you a recap of I went over with your students. We started with a warning against Satan’s strategies – how Satan attacks Jr Higher’s. I listed 10 of Satan’s strategies:

SATAN DECIEVES YOU INTO THINKING YOUR SIN WILL NOT HAVE CONSEQUENCES
SATAN DECIEVES YOU INTO THINKING GOD IS ONLY MADE UP OF MERCY
SATAN DECIEVES YOU INTO THINKING REPENTANCE IS EASY
SATAN DECIEVES YOU INTO THINKING YOU CAN WALK CLOSELY WITH SIN
SATAN DECIETFULLY REMINDS YOU THAT LIVING HOLY IS MORE DIFFICULT
SATAN TEMPTS YOU TO COMPARE YOURSELF WITH “WORSE” SINNERS
SATAN DECIEVES YOU INTO THINKING GOD IS NOT REAL
SATAN TEMPTS YOU WITH BAD FRIENDS
