Dear Parents,
I am so thrilled to welcome your student to JH Winter Camp 2023! We are going to have a blast. I am praying that the Lord will work mightily in the heart of your student(s) this year at camp. Our MAD (Moms and Dads) Crew is finishing the construction of camp games, our staff has been praying and preparing for a weekend full of discipleship, Patrick Levis is prepping to preach the Word of God to us, and Daniel Reimer is doing vocal warmups. This is going to be so much fun!
MUST COMPLETE BEFORE CHECK-IN:
Please make sure to complete the following BEFORE check-in. Notice there is a “CampDoc” requirement given to us by the campsite.
Upload a copy of your student’s medical insurance card here: https://www.dropbox.com/request/2NHQtLMWmT58oZSzvUie
Create a “CampDoc” account by CLICKING HERE and fully complete your student’s health profile.
If you need help, check out these INSTRUCTIONS provided by the camp. Every student must have this process 100% complete before check-in. This is a requirement from the campsite, not us.

When it asks for Church/Group phone, put mine: 951-813-0673

NO PHONE POLICY:
In an effort to protect our students from the dangers of technology and the internet, I am asking students to NOT bring their cell phones or any other device to camp. If you would like them to bring their phone in order to communicate with you periodically, we will collect their phones at check-in and keep them charged and safe with us for the weekend (please provide their phone charger if you would like to do this). If they ever need to use it to contact you, they can simply ask any of our staff. Also, they can just use mine (Terrell’s) or any staff's phone to contact you. And you can contact me at any point if you have any questions or concerns (contact info at the bottom of this email). My heart is only to protect our students and to eliminate any distractions for the weekend. ALSO – I will be sending out email updates every night of camp so you can know how our day went!
FOOD / LODGING / SHOWER INFO:
The food is going to be delicious and your student will never go hungry (see meal times on camp schedule below). There will always be water available to them. Your student is also welcome to bring any snacks with them – plus, there will be a malt shop and snacks available for purchase (so you may want to send them with some spending cash). If your student has any food allergies, our staff will be aware of it if you indicated it during registration. This also applies to all other allergies or medicine needs - we have a complete list of it all and will dedicate the weekend to making sure your student is safe.
Students will sleep in cabins with other students. Girls with girls and boys with boys. Staff will be spread out amongst the cabins to make sure students are safe and accounted for. If your student would like to shower (boys sometimes don't - gross but true), we ask that they shower in their bathing suits and flip-flops. Cabin assignments will be provided at check-in. Please no special requests - we will group students according to their grade/gender. Please let me know if you have any questions.
CAMP SCHEDULE:

TALENT SHOW:
We will have a Winter Camp Talent Show on Sunday (1/15)! If your student would like to participate, they can sign-up beginning this Wednesday night (1/11) – if they miss this Wednesday night, there will also be opportunities for them to sign-up while at camp. All instruments/equipment desired for the talent show must be brought by the student – unfortunately, we cannot have students use our band’s instruments. If you or your student have any questions about the Talent Show, please don't hesitate to ask me!
COLD & WET WEATHER! 🥶
Please make sure students are packed with WARM & WATERPROOF clothes & shoes since the weather will be very cold and wet this weekend! We are expecting temps between 30-40º and some rain! We would also suggest bringing an umbrella and a separate trash bag to seperate their wet/dirty clothes from the rest of their luggage. This is all included in the packing list above.
NOT TOO LATE TO SIGN-UP JH FRIENDS!
Please make every last effort to invite JH friends, family, and neighbors! We want to reach as many students with the gospel as possible. Our corrupt culture is dragging students into immorality, fear, depression, and anxiety. We need to make every effort to reach the lost. Do not let money be an issue for them, we still have scholarships available. They can find both the sign-up link and scholarship application form on www.fbcyouth.net. You can also send them the digital flier below! We will keep sign-ups open up until the day before camp!
I hope this email was helpful to you. Please let me know if you have any further questions. I am SO excited for Winter Camp!
In Him,
Terrell Medina, FBC Jr High Pastor
