[RISE Weekly] Behold, the Lamb of God!
Back in our normal flow… Continuing John, D-Group Hangouts coming September 8th.
Dear Parents,
It was so sweet to begin our study in the Gospel of John last Wednesday Night! John 1:1-18 introduced us to Jesus, the Word, and revealed to us that He is God, He is the Creator of the universe, and He took on flesh to save lost sinners like you and I. I love opening the Word with your students and have been so encouraged to hear that many of them are now reading the Gospel of John daily – thank you for encouraging them to do so! Our sermons are all recorded (both audio and now video, too) and I am working on uploading last Wednesday’s sermon to our website soon. I hope this will be helpful for students who might miss a Wednesday Night and to you so that you can hear what your students are being taught each week.
THIS WEDNESDAY
We are back at the Tracy’s tomorrow, from 6:15 – 8:15 PM, as we continue in our study of John. This Wednesday, we will be in John 1:19-34 as we are introduced to John the Baptist – the forerunner of the Messiah. He is the announcer and proclaimer of Jesus Christ. I love what he proclaims in John 1:29 – “… ‘Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” Jesus Christ is indeed the only One who can cleanse our stains of sin!
D-GROUP HANGOUT - SEPT. 8
On Wednesday, September 8th, we will have our first “Discipleship Group Hangout” of the fall! This means that we will not be meeting all together at the Tracy’s on this night. Rather, each discipleship group will be meeting in various locations for some focused time together. More details will come later but wanted to give you a heads up for now.
I could use your prayers as I’m making efforts to start an on-campus club at David A. Brown Middle School (located in Wildomar near our church property). My desire is to get on campus once a week during their lunch for pizza and a Bible study. If you know of any other middle schools where this might be possible – let me know!
Thrilled to see you all tomorrow night.
In Him,
Terrell
Last Week
Our first Wednesday back was a huge success!! It was so good to see everyone and get back into the groove of youth on Wednesdays. We played a new game, sang songs of worship, and heard Terrell open up our new series on the Gospel of John. Small groups focused on questions about the message and how to apply it in the student’s lives. Then, we finished off the night with some delicious cookies!
Check out all of these students who won a sweet RISE Proverbs t-shirt for completing the Proverbs Summer Challenge!
On Friday, we celebrated the students who completed all 31 days of the Proverbs Summer Challenge by having a party at Round One! Arcade games + pizza = best prize ever! 🙌
