Psalm 103:1 "Bless the Lord, O my soul. And all that is within me, bless His holy name."
Dear Parents,
Pancake Sunday Inbound!
I’m not sure how, but the spring semester is almost over! It feels like Winter Camp was so recent, yet we only have one more week before we say a sad farewell to our beloved 8th graders! In order to celebrate them well and help them see how much we cherish them, the Rise tradition is to send out our students with a bang! With this upcoming Sunday being our last, we will be having our annual 8th grade sendoff Pancake Sunday! In honor of the 8th graders departure, our ministry spends our final Sunday playing games, fellowshipping, and eating delicious pancakes together! In order for this final celebration to happen, we need your help! We need help with plates, utensils, pancakes, syrup, fruit, milk, and orange juice!! If you are able, please use the link below to sign up so that this awesome final celebration! This event isn’t possible without your guys’ help!! Please contact me if you have any questions!!

Tonight we will be diving into an incredible passage, Psalm 103! This Psalm was written by David, and the central idea is that David is commanding his own soul to bless, or praise, the Lord. “Bless the Lord, O my soul. And all that is within me, bless His holy name.” David is commanding his own soul and the entirety of his being to praise the Lord. Althoug that is the main focus, the instruction and encouragement from this Psalm does not end there. We will learn about the faithfulness of God throughout generations, of the good and blessings He bestows upon us, about His righteousness in His grace, in His Anger, as well as in His compassion. In His rightousness, He is opposed to sin and must punish it rightly. Yet in His abundant grace and compassion, He understood that our debt was too great for us to bear ourselves. In His great love, He patiently endures our transgressions and wrongs before Him. Not only does He endure our sinfulness, but He makes a means of salvation in the life, death, and resurrection of His very own Son, Jesus Christ. We serve a good, just, righteous, wrathful, compassionate, patient, gracious, loving God who has been faithful since the beginning of time and will be faithful until the end of time. What a glorious King we serve! In response to who He is and what He has done we should all say, “Bless the Lord, O my soul!”
See you tonight!
In Christ,
Johnny
