Dear Parents,
Junior Crew is Here!
There are a number of incredible things happening in our ministry, but one that you need to know about is Junior Crew! Junior Crew is our ministry’s student service team. Your students will be given the opportunity to serve and lead in junior high! There are multiple categories to serve in on Junior Crew such as: greeting, games, music (8th grade only), announcements, and set up and tear down! Our greatest desire with Junior Crew is that your student would have the opportunity to serve the church. We are all members of one body and we are all called to serve the church. Junior Crew helps give junior high students a means to do that! Application sheets will be going out tonight! The sheets will further explain Junior Crew as well as have parent sign-offs. We want you as parents to be on board with their involvement in crew! Additionally, we’re hoping that it gives a chance time to reflect, consider their motivations for signing up, and consider if their regular conduct at Rise is an example of God honoring living! If you have any further questions about it, please feel free to reach out to me!
Youth Tonight!
TONIGHT, and EVERY Wednesday night we will meet at FAITH BIBLE CHURCH (23580 Glazebrook Rd, Wildomar, 92595)! Join us from 6:30–8:30 PM in the Youth Room! There will be games, gaga ball, praise, a sermon, and time in small groups!
Tonight ALEX CRAIN will be preaching a special message on SERVICE! He’ll be preaching out of 1 Peter 4:10-11 “As each one has received a gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God— whoever speaks, as one speaking the oracles of God; whoever serves, as one serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and might forever and ever. Amen.” Every believer has been given spiritual gifts with which they are intended to serve the church with! God has created us differently and uniquely so that we can use our own giftings to serve the church and our fellow believers! For the Christian, service is not optional, but mandatory - and that truth applies to Junior High students, too! As 1 Peter 4 says, we serve with the strength that God supplies so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ!
Sunday Recap!
Last Sunday we continued in our sermon series called “Armor of God!” Josh Coyle walked us through the “Belt of Truth” from Ephesians 6. We are to stand firm and resist temptation with the belt of truth. The three questions we worked through were:
What is truth?
Why is truth called a belt?
How do we know what truth is?
We discussed that truth is not what we think or feel, but what God has declared in His word. Truth is called a belt because it holds us together and is the foundation upon which all of the armor can be applied. If we don’t know truth, we cannot be saved or do anything else! God’s truth is foundational in our Christian lives, and His word is a guide to our feet (Psalm 119). We find truth not in this world or in our hearts, but in God and his word!
WINTER FORMAL!! 🕺💃
In one week, we will have our annual Winter Formal! It will be Wednesday February 19th from 6:30-8:30 during regular youth times, but the night will be far from regular! We will show up as FANCY as we can be from our head to our ankles- but from ankle down we’ll be as comfy as we can be! For reference, imagine a boy with clean, styled hair, wearing a full tuxedo, but he has on crocs. That’s the vision! There will be dinner, games, and we will share the gospel! It’s a great night to invite friends and neighbors! In order to make this happen, we are asking you parents if you can serve by preparing and serving food! The link will take you to a page where you can see what we need and you can sign up for whatever you can bring! Please sign up so that these students can have an awesome, fun, fancy night!

See you all tonight!
In Christ,
Johnny
