[RISE Weekly] Faith Without Works is Dead
Join us TONIGHT for youth at the Behnan's, 6:30-8:30 PM! Help us at Fall Y'all!
Dear Parents,
Can you believe it… we only have 2 more Wednesday Nights left at the Behnan’s until we move to our very own church property!! Here is a breakdown of what’s ahead:
Oct 23 – Our Last Wednesday Night at the Behnan’s
Oct 26 – Fall Y’all Festival (FBC Property)
Oct 27 – First Sunday on Property! (No Jr High Service)
Oct 30 – First Wednesday Night on Property!
Nov 3 – Jr High 1st Service resumes on the Property!
We are so excited for the move but also VERY THANKFUL for the Behnan’s hosting us all this time! They have been so generous and hospitable to us. They love having Jr High at their home and are even sad to see us go.
We want to thank them on Oct 23 during our last Wednesday Night there! Would you consider bringing a card or small gift to youth on Oct 23 to express your thankfulness for them? We will bring them out at the end of our night to thank them and give them our gifts!
YOUTH TONIGHT! 💥
Join us TONIGHT, Wednesday (10/16), at the BEHNAN HOME (36750 Robin Scott St, Murrieta, CA 92562) from 6:30-8:30 PM!
This Wednesday, we will continue studying the book of JAMES! Tonight, we will examine the difference between a true LIVING FAITH and a false DEAD FAITH. James says, “faith without works is dead.” And Jesus repeatedly affirms that a true love for Him will show itself in faithful obedience. We know that works do not save us but the genuine born-again believer is never without righteous works. We believe in a faith that works! Come tonight as we study James 2:14-26 together.
FALL Y’ALL FESTIVAL – WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🎃
Help out at this year's Fall Y'all Festival! This is our NEW & IMPROVED trunk or treat event for all Jr Highers and their families! It is happening on October 26, 2024 from 6:30-8:30 PM at the FBC Property! There are three ways you can help this year:
HOST A TRUNK! (THIS IS OUR BIGGEST NEED!!!!) Dress up and decorate your car trunk to whatever theme you'd like and run a fun activity for students. For example, you can decorate your trunk to the theme of Star Wars and challenge students to a lightsaber battle... or you can do a western cowboy theme and have students participate in activities like ring toss. Be creative and fun! Activities don't need to be too complicated – just quick, but challenging, activities/games that students can complete in order to earn a raffle ticket!
MAKE A TREAT! This year, we want to have multiple treat stations! Make or buy a fall treat like kettle corn, caramel apples, hot chocolate, donuts, etc. that you can pass out to students throughout the night! If you cannot hand out the treats because you cannot attend or because you also want to host a trunk, you can still volunteer to make/buy a treat and we will have someone else pass it out!
DONATE CANDY! We love to pass out candy at each station which means we need a TON of various candies! Consider donating a bag or two for this SWEET event!

While the night was young, the students got to play some crazy game that involves running and sitting as some seats at a time get removed! Afterwards, as we settle down, we had our time of worship lead by AJ and Mandy Backland. For last week’s study, we move onto the second chapter of James on the next test - the test of partiality! “Favoritism is a Crime!”. We learned what it means to be partial towards those we may judge based on appearance, personality, possession, status, and among other things. We also recognized that it is a serious sin, that God hates partiality, and that He Himself is impartial, taking no pleasure in wickedness! There we conclude upon the mercy of God, that if we believe and declare Christ as Lord, having confessed your sins, then there is salvation in Jesus Christ. We look to our response in impartiality, which must be to love others because God loved us first!
On Sunday, we continued our equipping discussions, tackling the next topic “Big Bang or Big God?” where Logan got to lead the students to open up the scriptures to search to give a response about God’s incomparable and creative qualities and why man persistently has chosen to reject God. We look forward to the next time we get to spend time in God’s word and bond with the students!
