Dear Parents,
A Ministry and Preaching Update!
This semester has been such a blessing to me and the staff, and I wanted to fill you guys in on what we have been preaching and what your students have been learning! On Wednesdays, we went straight out of Winter Camp into “100%.” Our goal was to equip and teach students to live 100% of their lives for Christ. We discussed the greatest commandments, and that we are to love the Lord our God with all of our soul, heart, mind, and strength, and we are to love our neighbor as ourselves. We spent the next two months discussing what it means to be all in for Christ and to glorify Him with all that we are. Now we are in our sermon series “Worldly VS Godly!” God’s gospel denies everything natural about mankind. We desire to please ourselves, prioritize ourselves, and to put ourselves first. The gospel calls us to put ourselves last, to love others, and to die to self so that we might live for Him! We started this series last week, and it will go on for the next few Wednesday nights! On Sunday mornings, we have been working through the Armor of God out of Ephesians 6. Paul in Ephesians declares that we are at war and that the Devil is our enemy. Therefore, we put on the whole armor of God so that we might stand firm in God against the Devil’s temptations! We have discussed the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the boots of peace, the shield of faith, and will be pressing on to the sword of the Spirit this upcoming Sunday! This semester has been such a joy and privilege to walk your children through the truth of God. I write this in part just to highlight what we have had the chance to cover! But the second reason that I ask this is to give you as parents the chance to review this content with your students! So that you might ask them about the Armor of God and see what they have learned. To ask them what it means to be live 100% in for Christ. So that you can have the chance to keep the spiritual conversations going within your household and continue to shepherd their hearts! I hope that you might find the chance to have a meaningful discussion as a result of this, and this might serve as a benefit in order to start fruitful conversations with your students!
Youth is back on tonight!
TONIGHT, and EVERY Wednesday night we will meet at FAITH BIBLE CHURCH (23580 Glazebrook Rd, Wildomar, 92595)! Join us from 6:30–8:30 PM in the Youth Room! There will be games, gaga ball, praise, a sermon, and time in small groups!
Tonight is our SECOND night in our sermon series called “Worldly VS Godly”! Every believer knows that the world and God do not agree on many things. The kingdom of heaven is what is often referred to as “an upside down kingdom,” where the last shall be first and the first shall be last. Where the God of the universe becomes man, not to be worshipped or praised, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many. Tonight JOE LEVIS, our senior staff, will be preaching on godly fear! Proverbs 1 & 2 discuss the need for fear of the Lord, and the folly of fear of man. Students in our world are consumed by fear of man, what other poeple think of them, and what opinions others might have of them. Yet as believers, it is not man that we seek to please and seek to please, but God. The fear of God leads to security, whereas the fear of man leads to destruction. Matthew 10:28 “Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” We as a ministry and as believers seek not to please man, impress our friends, or gain favor from those around us. As believers our sole desire is to please and glorify our God and King!
See you tonight!
In Christ,
Johnny
