[RISE Weekly] Friendsgiving This Saturday!
Important Information for Friendsgiving as well as for Turkey Bowl!
Dear Parents,
Johnny Story here! I get the opportunity to send out the email today, so I wanted to start by saying thank you, parents, for your faithfulness throughout this crazy season! Transitioning onto the property has been so awesome and we are so thankful to be meeting there regularly, but I understand that we were keeping you guys on your toes. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we will do our best to make things smoother moving forward! There is also a calendar of the weeks to come at the end of this email that will help you guys stay up to date!

TURKEY BOWL
This Sunday (11/24) during first service, we will have our annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl! But this year, there’s a twist! Typically, we play football and fellowship. This Sunday, we will begin with opening the word, and close with actual turkey bowling! Students will have real turkeys and they will have to bowl them to knock over bowling pins!
In Him,
Johnny
RISE Rewind ⏮️
In our study on James in the test of will, we learned in the scriptures that all such boasting is evil, that we do not know what tomorrow brings, and that life is as short-lived as a vapor, and as believers we are all commanded to acknowledge the Lord’s will in all our ways and in all that we do. We identified the different kinds of people who respond to His will, being: the “fool” who ignores God and lives in a way as if God doesn’t exist, the “flaunter” who affirms the existence of God but deny the value of it, the “fugitive” who knows the will of God and knows that it is best, but still runs from it, and the “follower” who’s heart is transformed and submits to the supremacy of God’s will, even if it makes you uncomfortable.
The following Sunday, Kai teaching an equipping message on the Holy Spirit who indwells in believers, works effectively in salvation, and who is God Himself! We learned what it looks like to live fruitfully when we live for and submit to the Word of God in our lives and desire to be sanctified to look more like Christ.
