[RISE Weekly] Sign-up for Winter Camp Early Bird! 🐣❄️
Youth tomorrow night @ the Behnan's! Dress warm! Sign-up for WINTER CAMP!
Dear Parents,
Thank you to everyone who came to TRUNK or TREAT this past Friday! It was a blast – our biggest turnout ever – and the best trunks! Thank you to the parents who served us that night! Please pray with us that the many students who joined us would respond to the gospel and would get connected to our church and ministry! Check out some pics from the night at the bottom of this email!
We’ve got a ton to look forward to this month! I hope your students can join us for it all!
THIS WEDNESDAY
Join us TOMORROW NIGHT (11/2) from 6:15-8:15 pm at the Behnan Home (36750 Robin Scott St, Murrieta, CA 92562) as we get back into our study out of Revelation 2–3 called “Letters from Jesus.”
This week, we are in Revelation 2:12–17 as we look at what Christ writes to the church in Pergamum. Essentially, He asks the church, and He will ask US tomorrow night, have you willingly compromised? The church in Pergamum had drifted into compromise and was in danger of conforming to the world.
The apostle Paul writes:
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may approve what the will of God is, that which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2)
James also says:
You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world sets himself as an enemy of God. (James 4:4)
Worldliness is any desire or interest we may have in the temporal things of this world that take priority over God and the things which are eternal. I pray that this passage would be a great warning, reminder, and encouragement for us to not compromise with the things of this world but to hold fast to “the One who has the sharp two-edged sword.” (Revelation 2:12)

Last Week
We had a ton of fun at our Reformation Night last week! Many students dressed up and participated which was so cool to see. We also played a classic Jr. High game called the “dating” game where three students are pre-chosen and act as certain characters while another student is chosen to ask them questions while not seeing who they are. It is always so hilarious to see the student’s acting skills! After worship, Terrell did a great job leading us through a brief overview of some of the men who led the Reformation and small groups gave us time to talk about what it looks like to have Faith alone in Christ alone. We then ended the night with a fun costume contest!
