[RISE Weekly] The Seeking Savior
Youth at the Tracy’s tomorrow night, D-Group Hangouts next week, watch our Wednesday sermons on YouTube!
Dear Parents,
We missed your students this last Sunday, but we’re excited to see them TOMORROW for another Wednesday Night! I’ve been especially encouraged by seeing so many new visitors come to youth each week. I’m assuming your students are inviting their classmates as they return back to school – please keep encouraging them to do so! We have a ton of fun and the Gospel will always be clearly proclaimed.
THIS WEDNESDAY
I’m excited to continue our sermon series in The Gospel According to John! Tomorrow, we will study The Seeking Savior in John 1:38-51. I know this will help our students tremendously as some wonder if they should be waiting for Jesus to seek them before they pursue Him fully. I love how MacArthur summarizes this passage:
This passage, which records Jesus’ call of His first disciples to salvation, pictures the balance of salvation taught throughout Scripture. Salvation takes place when seeking souls come in faith to the Savior who has already sought them.
My prayer is that many of our students would begin to honestly seek the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. I would love for your students to read this passage before they come on Wednesday – I know many of them already are!
NEXT WEEK
Discipleship Group Hangouts are next Wednesday! This is a sweet time where students hangout with their discipleship groups at various locations. The purpose is to help our students build relationships with other students in their group as well as their discipleship group leader! They are also just a ton of fun. Exact details on where each group will be meeting will be sent out early next week. Be on the lookout for this upcoming email so you know exactly where to drop them off next Wednesday night!
WEDNESDAY SERMONS
All of our Wednesday sermons are now posted on our website, YouTube, Apple Podcast, and Spotify Podcast! I hope this will be helpful to you and your students: for you parents so that you can listen to what your students are being taught each week (and can follow up with them to discuss the sermon together); for your students in case they miss a Wednesday night or want to rewatch it! Also, maybe this would be a good opportunity to send these sermons to other Jr. High students who don’t already attend!
We love being with your students each week! Please don’t hesitate to let us know of any needs or prayer requests for your student and family. Our hope is to come alongside you parents in discipleship.
See you tomorrow!
In Him,
Terrell
Last Week
We are all stoked to be back in the routine of youth on Wednesdays. We played a new game called duck, duck, moo that the kids loved! We then met so many new visitors, sang worship, and heard another great message on the Gospel of John. Small groups is always a profitable time to discuss the effects of the sermon on the student’s lives. We ended the night with some delicious treats and fellowship with one another.
