[RISE Weekly] The Transformed Tongue 🙌
Join us TONIGHT at the Behnan's from 6:30-8:30 PM! Man & Woman Camp, Trunk or Treat, sign-up!
Dear Parents,
It’s an exciting month in RISE Jr High! On top of our incredible Wednesday nights, we’ve got MAN & WOMAN CAMP next week and TRUNK OR TREAT later this month! I hope your students can join us for all the fun! 😁
YOUTH TONIGHT @ THE BEHNAN’S! 🗣️🙌
Join us TONIGHT (10/4), from 6:30–8:30 PM at the Behnan Home (36750 Robin Scott St, Murrieta, CA 92562) as we FINISH our sermon series focused on the TONGUE! 👅
TONIGHT, after considering for weeks how our tongue can be DANGEROUS and POISONOUS, we now spend an entire night examining what a TRANSFORMED TONGUE looks like! I’m excited to unpack Colossians 4:2-6 which teaches us that the transformed tongue: Prays Constantly, Proclaims Christ, Proves Character, and Purifies Conversation!
Transformed tongues reveal a transformed heart!
MAN & WOMAN CAMP! 🚹🚺
Join us for a 2-day, 1-night local camp focused on teaching our students about biblical manhood and womanhood! What should Jr Higher’s do NOW to grow to become Godly Men and Women? We’ll also have a ton of FUN playing games and just hanging out with each other for the weekend!
Man & Woman Camp are BOTH from 10/13 (6pm) – 10/14 (7pm) and are BOTH just $30!
The MEN will be camping in Dripping Springs Campground.
The WOMEN will be at the Coyle Home (34821 Carina Place, Murrieta).
With a very CONFUSED and decaying culture around us, students cannot miss out on this important weekend! Sign-up now using the button below!
TRUNK OR TREAT 🚗🎃
On October 28th, we have our annual TRUNK OR TREAT! This is one of our favorite Fall events as it gets students, parents, and staff from both JH & HS all together!
YOU PARENTS make this event happen by hosting a trunk. We need you to decorate your car’s trunk according to a fun theme of your choice (Marvel, Star Wars, Reformation, etc.) and design a fun challenge (ring toss, trivia, etc.) for students to accomplish. Upon completion of your station, you reward the students with candy.
This year we will be hosting the event on our FBC Church Property from 6-8 PM. However, if you host a trunk we ask that you’d arrive by 5 PM.
Those of you who would like to host a trunk, please CLICK THE BUTTON BELOW to fill out a quick form!
If you can’t host a trunk but would like to serve, we have need for candy donations, decor set up and tear down. If you can fill those needs, please email me at terrell@faith-bible.net
TABLE TALK THIS SUNDAY! 📖
It has been SO SWEET to watch our students search for verses on their own and share what they learned in order to answer some very important questions! With this new teaching method, we are trying to teach students how to study their Bibles and give them confidence that they can find answers on their own through Scripture!
Here is what we’re covering this Sunday:
Question: What is sin?
Answer: Sin is rejecting or ignoring God in the world he created, rebelling against him by living without reference to him, not being or doing what he requires in his law—resulting in our death and the disintegration of all creation.
Main Passage: 1 John 3:4
See you TONIGHT!
In Him,
Terrell
Last Week
What a blessing to be able to spend every Wednesday night with your students! It is so fun to laugh with them during the games and sing together in worship to our King. Terrell challenged the students to truly evaluate their hearts as to whether the students have a transformed heart that will then lead to a transformed tongue. We learned that slander goes against Others, Obedience, Our God, and Ourselves. If you would like to know more, chat with your student and ask what stood out to them!
