Hello, parents! As promised, I will be sending regular updates to keep you guys in the know of what your students are up to at camp! The first night of winter camp 2025 has come to an end! Our time on the buses was full of singing and snack sharing! We made it safe and sound with no hiccups. After unloading, we took our luggage to the cabins and set up shop! For dinner, we had orange chicken, rice, and some delicious egg rolls! I heard great reviews all around the board, and if camp food continues to be this good, we’ll be eating like kings and queens all weekend. For our first camp game, we played egg roulette which consisted of 8 boys taking turns grabbing eggs and smashing it on their heads. The catch is that 90% of the eggs are hard-boiled, but the remaining 10% are raw. If they smash a hard-boiled head on their head- they survive. If they smash a raw egg on their head- they are eliminated. The last man standing with no egg in his hair won both bragging rights and snacks for sharing! We then sung praise led by the Levis clan! From there, we had our first session with our camp speaker, Alex Crain, as he set up the theme and main idea for this weekend as we go through Phillipains. The main idea and big question that we are asking is - is Christ my life? It was a great way to start camp and get our directino for the sessions to come! From there, we spent time in small groups discussing both our response to hte sermon, as well as discussing our hopes and goals for this weekend! To end the night, we spent a long time in our cabins fellowshipping and enjoying one another’s company! It was a great first night, and I’m so excited for what lays ahead! In addition to my promise of sending nightly updates, I vow to try to take as many pictures as possible so that you guys can see what kinds of things your kids are up to! Please join me in prayer for your students and their hearts, the staff and the wisdom to speak truth in love, and that we would glorify our God!
In Christ,
Johnny Sory
