[Rise Weekly] CAMP WEEK🙌🎉
Camp Movie Night THIS WED (6/16), Camp this weekend (6/17-20), Burger Bash and Camp Rewind NEXT Sunday (6/27)!
Dear Parents,
Camp is here. And we are all so excited. As we enter summer camp, though, it is important to remember why we even do camp at all. It is easy to forget amid all the preparation and fun. We are going to have a TON of fun – but that is not the main goal of summer camp or anything we do. We do all things so that we may present every person complete in Christ (Col 1:28). We go into camp with excitement because we’ve seen the many times the Lord has used these camps to draw students to Himself. Our prayer is that your student would meet God through His Word and that their hearts would be transformed by grace through faith. Last Wednesday, I communicated these same priorities to your students as I urged them to prepare their hearts for camp. You can listen to that message here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/e2llzn5pr8wc44y/Summer%20Camp%20Preview%202021.m4a?dl=0
Here are a few updates on camp:
IMPORTANT CAMP INFORMATION EMAIL
In case you missed it, or know someone who has, here is the email with everything you need to know for camp: https://risefbc.substack.com/p/rise-update-important-camp-info
NO PHONE POLICY
I want to thank you for your support and understanding of our no phone policy at camp. Again, our heart is only to protect your students and to eliminate any distractions during a weekend saturated in God’s Word and discipleship. For clarity, if your student brings a phone to camp, we will keep it safe and charged for them. If they want to use it to contact you, all they need to do is ask one of our staff members (or they could use any of our phones to contact you). Also, if you’re worried about memories being missed through pictures and videos, I hope there is comfort in knowing that we will have a dedicated photographer and videographer documenting the whole camp! Also, your student is totally allowed to ask any of our staff to take pictures for them and we will upload it all to a folder that we will share with you afterward.Â
HYDRATE NOW!
We are beginning to feel how hot it will be. So, it is important that your student starts hydrating now so that they are ready for camp! I am getting thirsty while even writing this sentence. Don’t worry, there will ALWAYS be water available to your students and whenever we are outside, there will be plenty of EZ Ups and shade for your students to rest under.
MEDICATIONS
We have a complete list of allergies and food restrictions for your students which we have communicated to the kitchen at Master’s. But if there are any MEDICATIONS that your student must take during camp, please let us know! Our amazing camp nurse, Dojo Aguilar, will be dedicated to making sure every student is safe and healthy during the weekend.
THIS WEDNESDAY
As you saw in the previous email, we are still meeting THIS WEDNESDAY (6/16) before camp. Same time, 6:15 – 8:15 PM, but different location (FBC Temecula 27464 Jefferson Ave #6C, Temecula, CA 92590). We will be having a movie night (watching The Prince of Egypt)! So, your student can come dressed in their pajamas, bring a blanket, and any snacks or candy that they want! We will also be giving them the opportunity to sign-up for our summer camp Talent Show! Also, we will be handing out camp t-shirts! It’s going to be such a fun night!

BREAK AFTER CAMP
Please note that we will take a short break after camp to give our staff some rest and a chance to recharge before the Summer Semester. There will be NO WEDNESDAY NIGHT (6/23) and NO JH 1ST SERVICE ON SUNDAY (6/27). We will kick off our Summer Semester at Camp Rewind (see details below).
BURGER BASH + CAMP REWIND (6/27)
We are looking forward to a sweet time at Camp Rewind on June 27th from 6 – 7:30 PM as we focus on all that the Lord did at JH and HS Summer Camp. But beforehand, from 4:30 – 5:30 PM, we will have a special JH Burger Bash where you can bring your family for dinner and have an opportunity to meet with your student’s discipleship group leader to talk about how camp went specifically for your student! You don’t want to miss this night. All taking place at Murrieta Valley High School.Â
Please be praying as we enter camp. I am praying for your student specifically.Â
In Him,
Terrell
Last Week
Youth last week was fantastic!! We heard an awesome message about how we can be preparing for camp in 7 different areas (Listen to this message by clicking the drop box link above). We then talked in small groups about specific ways each student can prepare their hearts to get ready for this incredible time away from distractions where they can focus on their relationship with Christ. After that we split up into our camp teams and decided on a team name/country since the theme of camp is Olympics!!! We are so excited for all of the marvelous work the Lord will do at camp!
